The Daniel's Kitchen Story
The Daniel's Kitchen story is really the story of the friendship between Daniel Solomon and Paul Hugill MBE. It began in 2001 when Daniel first joined the Priory team and over twenty years later their friendship and the lives they have touched continues with enthusiasm.
For many years their work was under the banner of the Priory Hotel where it all started, however when Covid hit the world, things changed with the formation of the Neighbours Kitchen, The Serendipity Initiative and finally Daniel's Kitchen. With a need for massive social impact but also a requirement for a more formal structure Paul was appointed as the first CEO of Daniel's Kitchen. Along with a small leadership team, Paul is determined to pursue a more ambitious social vision through Daniel's Kitchen. In Paul's own words "I have known for a long time that I wanted to play a part in creating a more inclusive world. Over the years I have tried different ways to achieve or at least contribute to this and now with Daniel's Kitchen I believe we have it. The vision is not just to help people who have fallen in the river, as it were, with food, employment and day to day welfare but also to go up stream and try to prevent people from falling into the river. My passion is equally divided between practical welfare and prevention by working with local schools, prisons and groups to help people find the confidence and self worth that I believe underpins a successful and fulfilling life."
